Our Garden
as of
Mid-May 2009
-- page 2 --

More photos from 16 May 2009 showing the remainder of our garden.

In the foreground is a corner of the tomato and okra bed.  The long narrow bed on the right is our asparagus bed.  We set out ten asparagus crowns but only three have come up; plan to put in a few more to replace the ones that have not come up.  The big bed in the back left is:  the bushy plants on the left are potatoes (four rows, two varieties); on the right are three rows that are just now coming up:  cucumbers; zucchini; and, summer squash.  The structure in the rear is our compost pile.

Corn and beans -- from right to left: three rows of corn (two varieties -- Silver Queen and Ambrosia); one row of pole beans (Kentucky Wonder); one row of okra.  Finished compost is under the black plastic behind the garden.

Close-up photos of two of our three apple trees with apples forming -- Golden Delicious on the left, Red Delicious on the right.
