Building our new house:
Gutters

While this may not seem like a big deal, gutters were installed on the house, garage, and shed on Thursday, 5 June.    With the gutters installed, we can now start diverting rainwater away from the house -- which will dry out the crawl space quickly.

View of the N side of the house with gutters and downspouts installed.  Note the blue ceiling on the back porch.  The sheets of OSB and plywood on the ground are our walkway -- still do not have sidewalks or walking paths installed -- they will come much later, probably after we move in.

Another view of the same area.  Note the landing on the back porch -- 6 X 6; stairs are comfortable -- 7-1/2 inch rise, 15-inch tread.  The tread for the stairs consists of two pressure-treated 2X6 with a pressure-treated 2X4 between the 2X6's for a total width of 15 inches.  The back porch faces SW.
