Ramp page 7

Here's what happened today, Thursday, 11 June.

Finished decking both ramps and the landing -- but -- ran out of decking lumber before I got the landing finished.  made a real mistake in my calculations -- the landing is 6 ft X 6 ft so I figured 12-foot deck boards could be cut in half -- but I forgot to allow for the 1-1/2 inches of trim, so, the deck boards are 73 inches long and I'm getting one out of a 12-foot deck board.  I'll be able to use the 71-inch scrap for other things.  But, had to go to the lumber yard today to get more decking lumber -- got some 8-foot boards to finish the landing.

Here are pictures.

Viewed from the house.

Standing in the yard looking toward the garage.  The deck boards on the landing are not screwed down yet -- ran out of screws, too.

Angle on this picture is a little funny.  The ramp from the house comes in from the left and the ramp to the sidewalk runs down to the bottom of the picture.  This shows the junctions between the two ramps and the landing.  Note the gap between the ramp from the house and the landing -- I will rip a deck board to fit that -- will put an angle on the edge that joins the landing.  No screws in the end of the ramp boards yet.

And here it is as viewed from the sidewalk. I'm still not certain what to do about this end.  I'm leaning toward purchasing an aluminum ramp end from one of several places I have found on the 'net.
